Refund & Cancellation Policy

At TapTaxi, we are committed to providing reliable, transparent, and fair ride-hailing services. This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the terms related to booking cancellations, refunds, and charges. By using TapTaxi, you agree to this policy.
1. Ride Cancellation by User
Users may cancel a ride anytime through the TapTaxi mobile application or website. However, cancellation charges may apply based on the following conditions:
- No Charge: If the ride is cancelled within a short grace period after booking.
- Partial Cancellation Fee: If the driver has been assigned and is on the way.
- Full Cancellation Fee: If the driver has reached the pickup location or has waited beyond the allowed waiting time.
The applicable cancellation fee will be shown in the app before confirming cancellation.
2. Ride Cancellation by Driver
In case the driver cancels the ride due to unavoidable reasons such as vehicle issues, emergencies, or safety concerns, no charges will be applied to the user. TapTaxi may take appropriate action against drivers for repeated cancellations.
3. Automatic Cancellation
A ride may be automatically cancelled if:
- The user does not respond to driver calls or messages.
- The user fails to arrive at the pickup location within the waiting time.
- Incorrect or incomplete pickup details are provided.
In such cases, cancellation fees may apply.
4. Refund Eligibility
Users may be eligible for refunds in the following situations:
- Incorrect fare charged due to technical errors.
- Duplicate payments or failed transactions.
- Ride not completed but payment deducted.
- Driver-related issues such as refusal, misconduct, or major delay.
- Service disruptions due to system or technical faults.
All refund requests must be submitted through the TapTaxi support system within 7 days of the ride.
5. Non-Refundable Cases
Refunds will not be provided in the following situations:
- Change of mind after ride completion.
- Valid cancellation charges as per policy.
- Traffic delays or route variations.
- Minor service dissatisfaction without valid evidence.
6. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds will be processed through the original payment method:
- Wallet or UPI: 1–3 business days
- Credit/Debit Cards: 5–10 business days
- Net Banking: As per bank processing timelines
Processing time may vary depending on payment gateway and bank policies.
7. Promotional Credits and Coupons
Promo codes, discounts, and credits are non-transferable and non-refundable. Expired or used promotional offers cannot be reinstated.
8. Fraud Prevention
TapTaxi reserves the right to reject refund requests in cases of suspected fraud, misuse, or violation of terms. Accounts involved in fraudulent activities may be suspended or permanently banned.
9. Dispute Resolution
If users disagree with a refund decision, they may contact TapTaxi support for review. All decisions are subject to internal investigation and applicable law.
10. Changes to Policy
TapTaxi may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
